Sapa – Ha Giang Loop Tour 5 days 5 nights

Night 1: Hanoi – Sapa

20:45 – 21:00 PM: Everyone meets at Vietnam Backpackers Travel. Keep your bags here and have Free Tea & Coffee here all day. 9:00 PM: Get on a Sleeper bus to Sapa Town. Arrive in Sapa Town at around 3:30 AM. Sleep on the bus until 5:00 AM. At that time our guide will pick you up from the Bus Office/ Station to our Hostel for a nap and breakfast.

DAY 1: SAPA – Y LINH HO – LAO CHAI – TA VAN VILLAGE

5:30 AM: Arrive Sapa in the early morning, sleep on the bus until 5:30 AM. Get pick up from the bus station to Hotel in Sapa.

6:30: Early check-in is possible when you arrive if the room available, otherwise we will provide you a public room where you can relax and have a shower. Have breakfast and free time to explore Sapa’s morning market before starting our trip.

8:30: Start the day with 6km of walking down to the Southeast of Sapa along Muong Hoa Valley to Y Linh Ho village, the home of the Black H’mong. Then, you will continue walking for another 3km down to Lao Chai village. Stop at the village for lunch. After lunch, continue trekking through the rice terraces to Ta Van village of the Dzay tribe where we stay overnight in a local family. Here you have the opportunity to experience their daily home life, work, and unique customs. Take photos with Rattan Bridge and enjoy the mountainous views, then relax for the evening.

DAY 2: TA VAN – SAPA – HA GIANG

8:00 AM: Breakfast will be served by the host family.

9:30 AM: 6km walk to visit the village inhabited by the red Dzao (Giang Ta Chai). The village is surrounded by a stunning green valley and makes for lovely photos.

1:00 PM: A picnic lunch will be served. Visit a beautiful waterfall and rattan bridge and soak in the landscapes through a bamboo forest as we make our way back to the main road to catch the minibus back to Sapa town.

3:30 PM by Limousine bus or 7:00 PM by Sleeper Bus: Time to freshen up at the hostel before taking the bus to Ha Giang.

DAY 3: HA GIANG – YEN MINH – DONG VAN

Check into our Ha Giang Hostel in early morning around 3 AM for a nap and breakfast before the tour starts.

8:30 AM: Meet your guide and easy rider then our brilliant Ha Giang Motorbike Tour adventure begins. After putting on protective padding, hop on the back of your tour guide’s motorbike. The road leads you to Bac Sum Pass, up to Heaven Gate,  where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the twin mountains and Tam Son town. Lunch in Yen Minh Town. Short break and drive towards Dong Van, through the picturesque Chin Khoanh Pass. Enjoy viewing Dong Van Karst Plateau, a major heritage site in Vietnam. The landscape is composed of endless rice fields, thousands of limestone rocks and breathtaking views. It also gives you the chance to experience the life of hill-tribe villages where local people works on the land. Visit Hmong King’s Palace, a home of Vuong’s family in Sa Phin. Arrive in Dong Van in early evening, where you will spend the night at a hotel. Enjoy a local Vietnamese dinner and live music, karaoke after a long day of mind-blowing landscape views. At night time, relax before another day of adventures.

DAY 4: DONG VAN TOWN – MA PI LENG PASS – DU GIA VILLAGE

After breakfast, we leave Dong Van Town to make our way to the “King” of mountain passes in Vietnam –  the Ma Pi Leng Pass. It’s risen to fame because of its abrupt cliffs and breathtaking views with an altitude of 2,000m at its peak! After driving through the pass and stopping occasionally to soak in the best views and snap photos, you’ll have the opportunity to trek the Sky Path, which offers a 360° panorama of Ma Pi Leng Pass. Paddling along the turquoise waters while being awed by the mountains above will be unforgettable. We’ll continue to drive through the rustic villages of Meo Vac, Mau Due and Lung Ho, where lunch is served. In the afternoon, we pass through the epic mountains to Du Gia rural homestay, located in the middle of green rice fields. Here, you’ll enjoy a massive, homecooked dinner with your host family and new friends. Don’t forget to try “Happy Water” – which is what the Vietnamese affectionately call rice wine.

DAY 4: DU GIA – LUNG TAM WEAVING – HA GIANG – HANOI

On the last day of your journey, be sure to pack your swimsuit as we’ll be stopping at a nearby waterfall for a refreshing swim. Then, you’ll experience firsthand the art of H’mong textile making in Lung Tam, a H’mong village where local women work tirelessly to produce pieces of textile art. You’ll even have the opportunity to purchase a textile bag or other accessories to take home with you. We then cross Quan Ba town, where you’ll see Nui Doi mountain. Making our way back to Ha Giang, we cross the Sky Gate and head back through Bac Sum Pass to arrive back at our Ha Giang Hostel in the early afternoon. At 4:30 PM, you’ll board our exclusive Comfort Limousine Van back to Hanoi, arriving in the Hanoi Old Quarter around 11:30 PM.
